I was happy that I could sleep until 10 o´clock today. I went to have breakfast at the same place from yesterday evening: Some huevos mexicanos and a fresh juice. Very tasteful.

Chable: Day off
Shit happens! My alarm sounded at 5 o´clock in the morning. I forgot to turn it off yesterday…..but I managed to fall asleep again, at least until 9 . I went down to pay my room for the night and I discovered that there were only 150 pesos left in my pockets.
Escarcega-Chable

When I got up today (very early at 5 o´clock in case I should have to do the stretch to Chable in one ride, which is 160kms) something very funny happened-like slapstick.
Xpujil-Escarcega
156 km (97 miles) – Total so far: 917 km (570 miles)
I started cycling today at 6:30 a.m. The weather was cloudy and I thought it probably would start to rain. But I was lucky, and actually it didn´t rain at all all day. There was quite a lot of traffic – many big trucks with double trailers.

Seems I cannot sleep longer then 7 o´clock in the mornings any more. Wish it was like this back home when I have to get up to go to work…..I went to have breakfast. Some tasty mexican eggs and a delicious orange juice today.

124 km (77 miles) – Total so far: 744 km (462 miles)
Today I didn´t hear my alarm bell ringing so I woke up at 7 o´clock which is pretty late for me on a cycling day. I shortened the usual morning ceremony and at 7:30 I was on the road.

Bacalar: Seesighting and chilling
I got up late today about 10 o´clock. When I asked Antonio, the owner of the posada, where to have breakfast he said he was also just about going to have breakfast and offered me to join him. We had some enchiladas and milkshakes – delicious, after I had to wash my cycling clothes.
Jose Maria Morelos-Bacalar
150 km (93 miles) – Total so far: 620 km (385 miles)
I knew today would be a long ride so I decided to start very early. At 5:30a.m. I was on my way. The town was sleeping-only a few people on the street. The road was going up and down as usual but in the begining there was something I enjoyed: as it was still dark, you just couldn´t see anything. So I was just feeling the course of the road, wether it was going up or down. Somehow this was nice.

I thought I would sleep longer today but at about 6 o´clock I was awake. Couldn´t sleep anymore so I just got up, carried the bike and the stuff downstairs and about 7:30 was back on my bike. At the main plaza I still saw some people hanging out from last night´s celebration who didn´t find their way home, yet. They still seemed to be very happy.
