Alajuela: Before flying home…. day 2: Visiting the capital „San Jose“

Sunday February 12, 2012
We slept long and then first visited the bike shop „Ciclo Deportes“ to show the bikes to the owner Marco. He especially was excited about the Rohloff gears and very interested in our saddles „Sella anatomica“ which he classified as „very intelligent“ but added a little bit resigned that „all things are invented already“. I offered him to take a ride around the block with my bike to see how the Rohloff gears work and everything. „Cool bike“ he said coming back.

After we went by bus to „San Jose“.We just explored the very center of town which is actually a pedestrian area. As it was Sunday, there were a lot of people and I didn`t like it too much, but there are nice old buildings like the „Teatro Popular Melico Salazar“ and the Post office for example.

We visited a pre-colombian culture museum that showed a lot of nice gold art of these times, that was cool.
In the evening we packed our bikes what was an art, too, though it was not of gold but of cardboard boxes….
