Alajuela: Before flying home…. day 3 Visiting the „Ave Zoo“

Monday February 13, 2012

The day began more quiet than the night was, because we felt the earth moving tonight! There was a quite strong earth tremor,(6 at the official scale), 200kms away from Alajuela. It makes you really feel kind of small when you feel the earth beneath your feet is shaking. What a power has nature !!

An amazing private project in Alajuela is the „Zoologico Ave“, which is a zoo of costa rican animals that were injured or mistreated and that people for some reason gave to the zoo. The zoo either gives home for these animals or – when they can be heald 100% – expose them to wilderness again. A nice spot, with a lots of plants and some animals – like leguans or parrots – that live there without being inside cages.
