At 6:45 I was on my way to meet Hernan at his camp site. He was sleeping only 3kms away from my place.
When we started to pedal the weather was perfect: only 22°C. The road we took was a secondary one so there was almost no traffic. Awesome. In the beginning the landscape was rural with lots of sugar cane fields and just now it’s the time of year when they are harvesting.
We had some breakfast in a small village – some coffee and some sweet crackers. We continued and were changing roads many times. Finally we got to the road that is leading through the National Park.
We were riding through the park on one side the view of the mountains and on the other side there was the big lake Ubolratan. It was so scenery, really amazing! What a lovely, epic ride!!!
After we got out of the park we passed a lot of small villages and in one we stopped to have lunch. Later on in another one we discovered such a beautiful Wat! There was a monk who could speak some English words and we had a small chat with him. Nice.
At about 5pm we passed a place were Hernan decided to camp. I continued to find a guesthouse or some other opportunity to stay. After a while he wrote a message and said the place he wanted to stay was not really good and so I waited for him for 20min to ride on together. At 6:30 I finally found a place while Hernan decided to go on to camp somewhere.
As usual I took a shower. Then I went to eat and I had one of the best dinners in Thailand so far. This place where I am staying now is called Maureen Resort and it is run by an Irish man married to a Thai woman. After I finished my super dinner I had a nice and interesting chat with the Irish guy. Cool.
At 10:30pm I went to sleep.
