Epilogue

Friday February 1, 2013

Argentina is an absolutely awesome country with open minded, warm and welcoming people, amazingly helpful. We didn´t have any bad experience at all. Anywhere we asked for help everyone tried his best to support us or at least tried to figure it out for us if he couldn´t do it personally. Generousness and kindness of the people we met was one of the highlights of our trip.
(Except BsAs-the „Portenios“ are a special case!)

Referring travelling by bike through Argentina and especially for this trip it´s important to take a tent with all the camping stuff. There are some stretches that are far too long to pedal them in one day.
Another main issue is to provide yourself with food and enough water before starting in the morning. Sometimes there is just nothing but beautiful landscape for hundreds of kms. The high temperatures require about 10l per person a day, but one can manage with 6l,too, but you will be thirsty.

We only once had a flat tire which is good, considering the paths we went.
To ride the Ruta 40 is a lot of adventure and a lot of fun. You should be able to bear hot temperature and contrary strong winds. Climbing the mountains is quite an effort but you will be rewarded by amazing and breathtaking landscapes.
Conclusion: Highly recommended, to be continued….
