Coba: Visiting The ancient Maya ruins with the highest pyramid of Yucatan 42mts

A little bit of culture today…We visitedthe ancient Maya ruins of Coba. It´s not a very big archeological site, but here you find the highest Maya pyramid of Yucatan, the Nohoch Mul Pyramid.

Some folks rent bikes to move inside the site (you are not allowed to use your own ones) but everything can easily reached by walking. We entered the site very early at about 8.30am (they open at eight) and this was a good decision. There were only few people. The site is maintained very nice, with beautiful paths leading through the jungle area.
The big attraction is the big Nohoch Mul Pyramid which you can climb and from where you have a really great view over the jungle. Watch your steps while climbing up the steep stairs and even more while descending, as they are a little slippery and very uneven. But the view from above is worth the effort.
We returned to our hostel to have breakfast and relaxed for the rest of the day.
