Wow- I woke up at 5 o´clock already and one hour later I was pedaling. I had to ask people to find the road I wanted to to take. There was a small secondary road that seemed to be a quiet option to the main road, but google maps (installed on my mobil) was sending me to I don t know where. But with the help of the people I found it.
Turned out to be a good choice. The road was very good and with no traffic at all. Sometimes very narrow. Looked like the vegetation of the jungle wanted to swallow it. I counted about 9 cars and 5 motorbikes on the whole way – amazing! I really enjoyed it! There were a lot of birds in the morning, a lot of parrots, and I also saw some snakes. Some of them- like always- dead.
I stopped two times to have a break. Always I carry with me minimum 3,5 liter of water, but if I find a nice opportunity on the way I stop to have a cold drink. It´s nice, because the water I take gets warm in the heat while I´m pedaling, and when I stop, I always can have some small chats.
Arriving at Izamal
I was looking for a place called „Eco hotel green river“ but I found out it was some blocks away from the center. I decided to look around and I found a nice clean and quiet posada with everything: Hot water and wifi. What else do you need? .
I had a nice shower, relaxed and went to look for aplace to eat. Again I was lucky to find a nice place for locals and had a wonderful dinner with a lot of habaneros. I like Izamal!
