Sigiriya-Kurunegala: The most bothering ride of our tour-the A6

Tuesday February 4, 2014, 84 km (52 miles) – Total so far: 1,680 km (1,044 miles)

The good-bye from the Paradise Inn guest house and the family of Milton (the owner) was so sad. Everybody was crying. We had such a good time together and so much fun. We really hope to see them again somehow.

As soon as we entered the A6 road, the traffic was getting heavy, and the road has no shoulder. We were bothered by the close passing trucks and buses that blow their horns all the time. That ride was not relaxing at all, you were stressed somehow by paying attention all the time that nobody´s going to roll over you, sometimes you had to leave the road to the side to get out of the way.

Kurunegala is like most of the sri lankan towns not exactly beautiful. Some 7kms out of town we found a pretty good guesthouse (“The Paradise”-looks like we stick to the name somehow!).
Tomorrow to Negombo we will try to go on side roads. It seems to be possible according to the map. No more trucks, no more buses and less horns!!!
