Thursady 25h, January 2018 75,5 km – Total so far: 220,5km
Incredible, I could start cycling finally!
The “Good-bye-ceremony” with Milton and family took alittle while and we were late anyway a little bit, so in the end we started one hour later than we had planned: 8 a.m. instead of 7 a.m.
But it was worth the million warm hugs and advices we got. Oh, not to forget the breakfast box that Nirmala (Milton´s wife) had prepared for us. They are wonderful people and fore sure they will have always a place in our hearts.
Cycling was easy and relaxed. Some birds on the side here and there. We saw stork, Ibis- birds, the brilliant blue Fisher king and lots of white egrets
Of course there are dogs everywhere, but they are peaceful and harmless. I thought, if you are born here as a poor person it´s really hard but should you be a dog here that´s the biggest ….of the lottery ever. They are so skinny and almost all have this skur disease what makes their skin like balled.
Poor creatures, I somehow feel for them, they have a short and cruel life here.
Almost there in Anuradhapura, a big Asian water monitor crossed the street, that was the highlight of the day, I guess.
There are no big stories to be told today.
The guesthouse “Lucky holiday house” is very basic, alittle bit rusty, but the owners are friendly and helpful.

Let{is like you’re having a great trip. Glad you’re feeling well again.
