We woke up surprisingly early at 9:30 a.m. Heavenly breakfast with fresh fruit.
After we began to unpack our things and as always we had forgotten to bring some small things.
Each of us thought the other one already had put it in….So we went to the supermarket to buy e.g. toothpast (we already missed it last night), batteries and some other stuff like this.
On the way we passed a small “communication kiosk” and decided to buy a sri lankan sim card. It´s easy here, but don´t forget your passport for you have to show them.
We laughed a lot with the owner of the shop, a tiny little lady, who was giving us some small glasses of her selfmade coconut – and banana wine for a taste. It didn´t taste bad, but very sweet, so we decided to stay with the sim card only.
Before we left, we got an invitation to come back again in the evening. We didn´t know then that we would come back rather soon, as the sim card wasn´t working. That´s Sri Lanka, too.
First we sat down at a small bakery. Here you can get tasty filled bread. Some are filled with curry, some with vegetables, others with seafood, fish or sausages. Just ask if it is very spicey before, so you won´t have a hot surprise.
We tried out the sim card, but it wouldn´t work. So we had to go back to the kiosk to eventually change it. This time the daughters of the owner were there.
They laughed and said you have to activate the card before you can use it, but their mother didn´t know how to do it when she sold it to us. Digital generation 🙂
Back in our place I assembled the bikes and in the evening we went to eat.
