Kurunegala-Negombo: Our last day cycling

Wednesday February 5, 2014, 78 km (48 miles) – Total so far: 1,758 km (1,092 miles)

Our last day of cycling began at 7 o´clock in the morning. First we had to make back the kms from our guest house to the city of Kurunegala. The usual traffic of school transport, but not too bad. At the junction to Negombo road we did a small breakfast break with some vegetable egg/chili-paste pastries.

Then we cycled on the newly paved, wide road. There was some traffic, but as the road was so wide, it was quite comfortable to cycle.
The road was going up and down constantly, and in the end we had cycled some 500m of altitude difference.
About 8kms before Negombo, we cycled a very tiny road, unpaved and without traffic at all.

It led us to our small, hidden bed & breakfast „The villa green Inn“, which turned out to be a real oasis. Tranquility, pool, perfect rooms and good food-we felt like winning the lottery. Here we surely will have some very relaxed last holiday days!
