When I got up today (very early at 5 o´clock in case I should have to do the stretch to Chable in one ride, which is 160kms) something very funny happened-like slapstick.
During the night I had to go to the bathroom. When I went to bed again, I closed the door of the bathroom behind me. In the morning I couldn´t get inside anymore- the door was locked. Can anyone explain me how a door can lock itself from inside? Strange. I was lucky I already had taken out my stuff the evening before to pack it…. Rebellious doors in Mexico.
At 5:40 in the morning I was on my way leaving Escarcega. The road seemed quite empty, but after it got busy. Heavy traffic, many trucks. As there was a big shoulder most of the drivers were ok, enough space between us.
I was tired from yesterday´s ride but at least there were no hills and no wind, just the road was boring. I listened to some music to motivate myself and I was going very fast.
Of course in between, there was no possibility to stay and I had to cycle on to Chable. When I arrived, I found that there was only one hotel in town. It was easy to find.
After a nice shower I went to eat. I got some meat a la mexicana but what was hard to bear they didn´t sell beer at that place!! I asked the owner and she seemed to feel that this was an emergency! She really went to buy some beer for me! Very nice lady – thank you so much, seniora! After I went back to watch some TV and relax. Tomorrow I will stay here. The internet is good and I need to regenerate.
