I slept until 10 o´clock and I went to have breakfast just around the corner of my hotel.
Afterwards I had to find a bike shop. I took the bike and walked around and lucky devil that I am! I found one not too far from my hotel. The owner of the shop was a 86 years old man with a lot of knowlege about bikes.
Before he started working we were chatting about many things, we changed experiences and it was really interesting to talk to him. I enjoyed. I tried to help a little bit by taking the wheel with the broken spoke out myself. The owner´s work was spectacular: the spokes of my bike are not the standard size of a 20“ wheel because of the Rohloff gear system I use. They need to be a little bit shorter than the usual size. This old bicycle repairman just built some new spokes right in front of me. Amazing! When he finished working he even didn´t want to accept any money. Incredible! ( Of course I insisted on paying him for his work but still I was impressed).
When I had taken out the wheel before I had noticed that my tire was almost finished, so I try to conserve it a little bit longer by changing it from the back to the front. I felt like I had a brandnew bike when I left the shop. Very good.
Back in my room I did some laundry. I felt hungry and decided to have some fast food at Burguer King´s. I´m really not used to it…..The hamburger was ok, but the Pepsi Coke tasted disgusting for me – I threw it away.
When I returned I couldn t open my door. I already thought „shit“ surely it´s because I left my card in the fixture for the elctricity (I wanted to keep the A/C working while I´m gone), so I went to the reseption with a little bit of a bad conscience.
But then it had nothing to do with it. The employee took the room- door- card and she did something with it , I don´t know what, but after it worked again.
I decided to stay another day here to relax. I like the room (in fact the best one I had during the trip so far). I got some snacks and a beer for dinner this evening.
