I don’t know why again I woke up at 6 o’clock – I still felt really tired. Thats life, I guess. Couldn’t sleep anymore. At 6:45 I was already pedaling on my way to the concrete jungle Bangkok.
First I went on fast road with 2 lines in both directions but I was lucky – there was a good, comfortable shoulder to ride on. I changed onto a small road after about 20km. The next 20kms it was nice cycling. The closer I got towards Bangkok the more it turned into a fast road going right under the main highway.
To be honest, I think there was not much difference between this road and the big toll road above. All the cars and trucks that wanted to avoid paying the road toll went on it and sometimes there was no shoulder.
I only had one short break 15km before arriving in Bangkok. In the morning I had taken with me some chips from yesterday. This was my only food for the route today…..
I rode into the city of Bangkok without any problems and I could find my hotel quickly.
Today I cycled really fast. I just wanted to arrive as fast as possible because this stretch today was not very attractive for riding. So I showed up in my hotel before 11am.
When I wanted to check in the reception guy said that I should wait until 2pm because the room wasn’t ready, yet. Oh no! I said what? Come on guys…. In the end thanks god I just had to wait one hour until they finally had cleaned the room.
I checked the average speed of today’s cycling and wow! I pedaled with an average speed of 21,5km to Bangkok.I took a shower and a small nap. When I got up, I went to eat and bought some groceries in the MBK supermarket.
Tomorrow maybe I will go to visit some bike shops and on the weekend I think I will ride around town a little bit. On Sunday I will have to pack the bike in the suitcase already. Don’t cry for me my bike Friday….
