We left at 7 in the morning. The village was already busy, but leaving it, there seemed to be no more traffic at all. Beautiful road along the ocean side, although the huge damage of the big Tsunami in 2004 is still visible along the coast-ruins of damaged houses, everything left and abandoned.
The weather was good, and we were just rolling next to the beautiful waves of the sea, passing fishermen standing in the lagoons with their net in both hands catching fish. We saw a lot of birds, like fish eagles high in the sky or ibis, storks and other waterfowl. Rice fields with all kinds of green you can imagine.
Our guest house „Nice Place“ in Arugam Bay is just 50m from the beach. It has a cosy, small garden and „Monel“, the woman in charge, cooks wonderful. We´ll stay a day here to relax.
