Today was a very relaxed day. We slept long, had a nice breakfast at the main square, the Zocalo, how they say here.
Later on we met another mexican cyclist there, who was also touring Yucatan and Quintana Roo. It was interesting talking to him and we took some photos as we said good-bye.We wanted to visit the Cenote Zaci, a Cenote which is situated right in the center of town.
When we were there we decided straightaway to go back to our hotel to get our swimming clothes because it looked like „a must“ to have a fresh bath there. And there were so few people. So we returned and swam in the fresh water of this wonderful place with natural showers as the water falls down from the huge rocks and fish touching your feet. It felt so good you hardly can find words to describe it.
Some crazy folks jumped into the water from above and the place was fool of happiness and laughter and some how peaceful although. Just awesome. The kind of things you want to last – hard to say good-bye.
In the afternoon we explored some places of the city like a very tiny museum of Maya traditions and the main market. At last we returned to the Zocalo, sat down, had a coffee and watched the world go by. Feels like vacation I guess!!!
