Moin-Puerto Viejo: Caribean feelings

Sunday January 15, 2012, 70 km (43 miles) – Total so far: 352 km (219 miles)

A nice trip, always along the coast with the sea nearby. We could see and hear the big waves rolling against the shore. The weather was not quite good, infact, we started in the poaring rain. The only good thing about it here is the temperature- it’s still so warm, that even if you get wet, you won’t get a cold.

It’s just a little bit uncomfortable like everywhere when you bike in the rain. On the road there was little traffic and lots of green jungle on both sides of it. Some small villages and always the sea. The weaather got better and as the sun came out it was really hot, you almost wishes the rain to come back. But in this region it seems to be always like this: some short and heavy rains and then the sun comes out with all its strength – until it rains again.

Arriving in Puerto Viejo we found it an absolutely party-people ruled little town. Everywhere Reggae and lots of Dreadlocks (from wich 99% are a matter of fashion and a desperately attempt to be cool). We didn’t like it too much but found a more or less quiet little bungalow away from the beach region. Now we’re also chilling and relaxing. Maybe we also get cool in the end (or aren’t we already ??)
