I thought today I could sleep a little bit longer but at 5 o’clock the mosque nearby was calling for the morning prayer and I woke up. Shit, I thought, but what can you do?
I packed my stuff together and was ready to leave. When I got down the door was still locked, but the key was there. So I just got out and started to cycle. It was 6 o’clock and I was happy to leave this ugly place.
I pedaled on the main road and cycling was quite boring. Traffic was heavy and I listened to my mp3. I didn’t realize that I was going fast – average speed 19km/h – good music!
Close to Pasikuda, 6km before arriving, I turned onto a small road which was nice and I enjoyed to be off of the main road.
I wanted to get a nice room today for my plan was to stay two nights. The first guesthouse ‚Holiday beach“ did not even look slightly like the pictures in the internet and the second one the Resort „Layla Waves“ offered a standard room for 95USD – unbelievable price! (An average monthly salary in Sri Lanka is about 120USD).
I continued to the next one „Nirma shadows“ which was not bad, but they don’t provide food there. The next one „Nanda want guesthouse“ was booked and at last I found a nice room at „Ashram Accommodation“. The place is very good located, the area is very green, away from the roadside and they serve breakfast and dinner. I like it.
First I took a shower, washed some clothes and took a nap.
Afterwards I was lucky to find a liquid store where they sell beer just 400m away from the guesthouse. So I got myself some beer for dinner. I enjoyed the wonderful Sri lankan food together with my beer at night and tomorrow I will sleep long and just hang out here.
