As soon as we started in the morning we rode with strong wind ahead. There was no secondary street we could take, so we had to cycle the national road that leads also to the capital of Montevideo in the south. Therefore traffic was more than usual.
Cycling was not so much fun, as the constant headwind is really bothering and demands a lot of strength while pedaling.
We were happy to arrive in Florida, which is a very nice little town. First we thought of camping, but when we got to the campground we were attacked by millions of mosquitos.
Maybe in 2 minutes we got more than 40 stitches each-so we escaped to a little hotel (Hotel real) in the center of town.
In the evening we had a nice asado for dinner in a tiny little restaurant, where the menu was all written by hand.
They attended on us by three persons, as they were so nervous to have some foreigners in the restaurant. Everyone tried to explain everything about the food like „dinner for dummies“ and we really had fun and the food tasted real good, too.
