We said good-bye to Montevideo and headed for the port where the ferries leave for Buenos Aires, Argentina. For the last time we cycled along the Ramblas and the port was easy to find.<\/p>\n

After the check in and the migration stuff, there was still enough time for a little breakfast. When the ferry arrived we were the first to get on. It\u00b4s very comfortable to travel by bike with these ferries, for they let you leave all the panniers on the bikes, you don\u00b4t have to unload them.<\/p>\n

Just put them on the side where all the cars go and that\u00b4s it. Easy. What was funny were those shoe protection papers you had to put over your shoes to keep the hygiene on board.
\nAt the beginning you could feel the waves and the ferry moved a lot, one could hardly walk….<\/p>\n

Later on the crossing was relaxed and calm, for god\u00b4s sake. (We are very sensitive referring to seasickness).
\nAt Buenos Aires Port „Puerto Madero“ again we were the first one\u00b4s to leave the ferry before all the cars went off. The customs employees seemed to be a little bit bored as they wanted me to open one bag to look inside.<\/p>\n

He was kind of embarrassed that a german guy spoke such accent-free Argentine Spanish but I told him my secret that I was born here and his world was alright again.
\nThe last kms in Buenos Aires felt like coming home a little bit, and at the house of my brother our Uruguay loop finally ended….Good-bye cycling, hello family!!<\/p>\n
